Enchantica's Spreads Christmas Magic with the Harrogate Christmas Community Fund

Families, schoolchildren, and elderly members of the Harrogate community will once again experience the festive magic this holiday season, thanks to Enchantica’s Christmas Community Fund. The initiative raises money to spread Christmas joy across the local area, ensuring festive fun reaches even more people.

Enchantica’s, known for their popular Harrogate Father Christmas Experience at the Elf Village in Cedar Court Hotel, brings the magic of the North Pole to life for families. Beyond this festive experience, Enchantica’s has been running their Christmas Community Projects for the past two years, with support from local businesses, organisations, and individuals. These projects allow them to share even more joy with the community.

Suzie Vaughan (aka Tinsel the Elf), a key figure at Enchantica’s, shares her excitement:

"Since launching our Christmas Community Projects, we've been overwhelmed by the incredible support from local businesses in Harrogate. Their generosity has helped our projects grow stronger each year."

However, this year’s collective financial challenges and funding changes mean the team will need to work harder than ever to bring the Christmas magic to the community. To help make this possible, the Christmas Community Fund is now open to public donations.

"I believe that when people come together, magic happens," says Suzie. "Thanks to the kindness and generosity of our community, we will be able to continue spreading Christmas cheer across Harrogate this year."

The Christmas Community Fund will help Enchantica’s deliver:

The Green Elf Project:

Educational theatre shows for local schoolchildren focusing on sustainability, especially at Christmas. Children will learn the key values of reduce, reuse and recycle and how they can apply these to their own festive activities and waste at home.

VIP Christmas Lunches & Entertainment:

Harrogate Neighbours VIP Dinner with Santa

For elderly residents, in partnership with Harrogate Neighbours, this valuable service goes a long way to helping combat loneliness among our elderly community at Christmas time.

Funded Shows for The Unity:

Lynn Westerman from The Unity

A parent-led charity supporting families living with disabilities, neurodiversity, or from vulnerable backgrounds. Providing these shows allows families to be able to relax in a positive environment where their children are welcomed and celebrated and all members of the family, including siblings, can enjoy a much-valued shared family experience at Christmas.

 And new for 2024:

The Harrogate Christmas Fayre Community Entertainment Programme:

Community Entertainment Programme

For the past two years, Enchantica’s has facilitated performances by community acts at the Harrogate Christmas Fayre, including opportunities for those who might not otherwise have the chance to perform. In 2023, over 300 local people - from young children to the elderly - took part in this much-loved event.

Suzie explains, “With the financial shifts this year, we now need to raise funds to keep offering these opportunities. Without your support, schools, community groups, and local performers may miss out on taking part. Every contribution, no matter how small, brings us closer to our goal of delivering the magic our community loves - including the much-anticipated entertainment programme!”

"When people work together, great magic happens," Suzie adds. "We’re excited to keep delivering our Christmas Community Projects, with everyone’s generous support. Every donation will go toward bringing festive magic to our community, for all to enjoy."
